It’s A Wrap!

July 1, 2004

GLAD WORKS, the Pawtucket-based, full-service advertising agency, today announced the completion of a 360 Bus-Wrap design for Rhode Island Blood Center’s new mobile blood drive vehicle. The design features smiling people under a bright-blue sky, with scattering dandelion seeds blowing in the breeze and the tagline: “Blood. Drives. Life.”
“This is our third mobile donor coach. It is a smaller coach, only three beds, and makes it efficient to hold drives with lower goals. It allows the Blood Center to reach numerous businesses and organizations it could not service in the past,” said Kathleen Connolly, Director of Public Relations at the Rhode Island Blood Center.
“The concept,” said GLAD WORKS’ Marketing Director, Callum Grieve, “celebrates the life-affirming notion that as members of a community we can reach out and help take care of people we may not even know. And the age-old folklore of the dandelion’s puff-ball head seed that – once blown off into white swirls – has the power to make wishes come true. It is a perfect illustration for those who donate blood, perhaps saving someone’s life.”
"It was a real pleasure working with GLAD WORKS on the bus wrap project," said Graphic Innovations President, Jim Larkin. "We already know that this will be the first of many outstanding collaborations with their agency."
The new donor coach is specifically designed for smaller companies or organizations. To arrange for a blood drive, call the Rhode Island Blood Center at 401- 248- 5723.
