It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has passed!
We’ve been incredibly busy (thanks to our outstanding clients) and our Fall ’07 issue of “the WORKS” has now become a longer Winter ’08 issue.
We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it.
As demand for our services continues to grow, so does GLAD WORKS! In fact, according to the December 10, 2007 issue of the Providence Business News, this latest growth spurt means that our talented agency now ranks as the 7th largest in Rhode Island (up from #19 in 2006).
Please join us in welcoming the newest members of our team:

As a part of our ongoing tradition, GLAD WORKS continues to dedicate a percentage of our time to working directly with local nonprofit clients. Some recent successes include:
When the John
Hope Settlement House wanted to dress up its marketing, GLAD WORKS was the perfect implementation team. Designer Liz Aune created a memorable look for the website and other collateral; Wes Rollend photographed staff and clients at John Hope to give a visual element to their story; and, web developer John Picozzi built a site where visitors can learn about John Hope’s long history of programs and services.
GLAD WORKS played an integral part in creating the look of the PWCVB’s 2007 Festival of Trees. Illustrator/designer Jesse Hashagen designed all event-related collateral including everything from newspaper ads and programs to posters and rack cards. Other GLAD WORKS team members themed and decorated a tree for the December event which benefited the Rhode
Island Coalition for the Homeless.
Supplementing ABC/RI’s own hardworking staff, GLAD WORKS has used its many abilities to brand and market this unique Rhode Island organization. ABC/RI’s logo and branding, website and program collateral are all GLAD WORKS creations. This year’s Encore Awards is no exception. Using the event theme “Explore. Experience. Enjoy. Encore.” (developed by an ABC/RI committee headed by GLAD WORKS’ own Gina DiSpirito), the GLAD WORKS team designed a website, print ad, billboard, invitations and all other event-related collateral.
GLAD WORKS Principal and IT Director Adam Harvey has recently joined the ranks of esteemed local experts writing monthly articles for Every
Company Counts. This organization—a subset of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation—is an invaluable resource for entrepreneurs in our state who want help to grow their businesses. Though typically targeting small businesses, the ECC’s information is also pertinent for local large and mid-size companies. Similarly, Harvey’s monthly pieces will address a host of marketing and technology issues relevant to businesses of all sizes.
The Providence Business News’ last issue of the year
shone the spotlight on GLAD WORKS and two of our clients.
Garrison
Confections and Central Paper were
the focus of an article by David Ortiz highlighting the impact of
e-commerce on established brick-and-mortar stores. The piece discussed
the revenue that can result from an effective and engaging website
which serves to promote the brand while providing valuable products
and services to clients around the world. Garrison co-owner Tina
Wright and Central Paper’s owner
Paul Perkowski provided Ortiz with a firsthand perspective on how
their websites had influenced their companies’ growth. |

With an exciting and timeless collection of heirloom-quality Judaica, it was easy for GLAD WORKS to build a site where Forgotten
Judaica could tell their story. Company founder Lisa van Allsburg came to GLAD WORKS with an existing web design and asked us to build her vision. In addition, van Allsburg wanted elegant and artistic product photographs that would reflect the character of her company’s unique and distinctive religious products. Web developer Mark Ferree and photographer Wes Rollend provided the elements that showcase this client’s special products and the gifted artisans who create them.
